Support Group
BCFO’s support group provides emotional support for local breast cancer patients and survivors. The group meets bi-weekly at BCFO’s Springfield office and via Zoom. It is led by licensed counselor Jacey Collins from Gateway Counseling Center.
As one of the only breast cancer focused support groups in the area, this program is a vital resource for local breast cancer patients and survivors. It empowers healing through shared stories and struggles– showing survivors they are not alone.
All breast cancer survivors can attend our Support Group at no cost to them. BCFO pays approximately $3,750 per year to cover the cost of the licensed counselor who leads Support Group. Please help us continue Support Group by donating to our Support Group fund below!

May 1st, May 15th, May 29th, June 12th, June 26th, July 10th, July 24th, August 7th, August 21st, September 4th

Testimonial
“BCFO’s support group has grown tremendously in the past year. The group culture is one of authenticity and vulnerability. Members seem to have a deep need to share their struggles, even when they first join the group. Many of them have voiced how vital this group is for their cancer treatment and beyond. They feel seen and understood by other women who know exactly how they feel, during a time in which they feel alone and invisible. Cancer is one of those things that we don’t like to acknowledge or accept because it feels foreign and incites fear. This is exactly why we needed to bring cancer-fighting women together to instill hope, courage, and strength in one another. This group has quickly become one of the most beautiful things I have witnessed in my career—to see the strength and comradery stirred up through a sisterhood of people from all walks of life, choosing to walk together.” – Jacey Collins, Support Group Leader
